Pharmacy Tech Lead

Lead and oversees the Pharmacy technicians in the Pharmacy-Clinic refill program. Assist and manage all pharmacy technicians’ work and queues and aiding Supervisor and Pharmacy operations manager with projects and updates.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

• Promote a friendly group working environment; work closely with Clinic physicians and staff as necessary; support group decisions and solicit opinions from co-workers; display team spirit
• Able to handle multiple tasks and remain calm with changes in area needs; able to manage transitions effectively from task to task
• Participates in development and implementation of new programs, policies and procedures, updates existing clinical policies and procedures within the Pharmacy-Clinic refill program.
• Coordinates and oversees pharmacy technicians’ inboxes for refills assuring tasks are completed within the turn-around time (TAT).
• Provides advanced technical expertise, data maintenance, records management, and/or other administrative support activities
• Works with department manager to solve non-routine problems
• Trains and monitors the work of pharmacy technicians so that they are able to perform assigned duties; identifies individual training needs and reports to supervisor; directly provides training regarding processes and techniques within assigned area
• Serves as a resource for the more complex technical pharmacy issues and questions; assists professional staff (internal and external departments)
• Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others including physicians, nurses, administrators, managers, vendors, and other health care industry personnel

• Monitor team’s performance; maintain records and compile statistic

• Report to senior management / personnel when required
• Performs other duties assigned
