Job Summary
We are looking for a highly motivated and organized Legal Assistant to support our fast-paced legal team in managing legal and administrative tasks. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing administrative assistance to paralegals, lawyers and legal executives, handling case management, conducting research, drafting legal documents, and managing client interactions. The Legal Assistant will work closely with other legal professionals to ensure that all legal matters are handled efficiently and effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing administrative support to paralegals, lawyers, and legal executives, including managing calendars, scheduling appointments, and answering phone calls
- Drafting and proofreading legal documents, including contracts, pleadings, and correspondence
- Assisting with case management, including organizing and maintaining case files and tracking deadlines
- Managing client interactions, including answering client questions, and maintaining client communications
- Assisting with billing and invoicing, including tracking time and expenses, and preparing invoices
- Maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism at all times
Requirements:
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal software programs
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Works well under pressure and can handle a demanding atmosphere
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in a law firm or legal department setting
- Experience with using WordPerfect software
- Knowledge of relevant legal terminology and procedures
- Familiarity with document management and e-discovery tools
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to effectively manage attorney/paralegal requests and make game time decisions
