RNIB, the Royal National Institute of Blind People, is the UK's leading sight loss charity. We offer practical and emotional support to blind and partially sighted people, their families, and carers.
We raise awareness of the experiences of blind and partially sighted people and campaign for change to make our society more accessible for all.
We want to change our world so there are no barriers to people with sight loss.
The Royal National Institute of Blind People (RNIB) is searching for enthusiastic and experienced individuals to join our Audit, Risk, and Assurance Committee (ARAC) as Independent Committee Members.
Your Role
As an Independent Committee Member, you'll bring your expertise to the table, ensuring RNIB's ARAC is effective and provides appropriate oversight of the group's audit, risk and assurance activities.
What We're Looking For
Independent thinkers with a passion for making a difference, particularly if you or someone you know is visually impaired or blind.
- Expertise in technology and / or data or
- A qualified accountant, experienced in financial management and planning or
- Experience in leading major change projects.
All committee members are expected to be effective communicators with integrity and good reasoning skills. Knowledge of artificial intelligence would be an additional benefit but is not a requirement.
Time Commitment
Devote approximately 6 days each year (including reading papers) to fulfilling the duties of this volunteer role, attending four committee meetings that last around four hours each and are either held in person in London or virtually.
