Job Responsibilities:
- Manage business requirements of service department.
- Control expenses and enhance income.
- Develop systematic relations between customer base and overall departments.
- Responsible for budgeting make up and adherence of the service department.
- Responsibilities also include the supervision of all indirect and direct labor in the general shop department.
- Create and adhere to operating budget.
- Supervise all general shop staff.
- Monitor warranty progress.
- Develop new business.
- Communicate with the customer base.
- Promote Komatsu programs.
- Maximize utilization of service assets.
- Implement SOD requirements.
- Monitor Ramps and contracts.
- Control WIP.
- Ensure proper training, and procedural compliance with corporate procedures.
- Delegate activities to shop foremen and service support employees to ensure service department works in efficient, safe and profitable manner.
- Work with other branch & service managers regarding technical, warranty and revenue issues.
- Interview, Coach, Counsel, Mentor, handle employee relations matters (in conjunction with corporate HR) for all Service employees under your management.
Educational/Experience Requirements:
- 5 years’ experience as a Heavy Equipment Service Manager
- Previous management experience of shop & field personnel
- Excellent communications skills (both verbal and written)
- Knowledge of construction & mining related business
- Ability to develop and maintain good working relationships with all co-workers, customers and the general public.
- Adequate math skills to prepare parts and service quotes for customer information.
- Valid State Driver’s License and acceptable driving record.
- Must be able to travel on a regular basis to include overnight stays.
- Must successfully pass a criminal background check and drug screen.
