RTR is offering a $5,000 Sign on Bonus to all New Full Time Hires!
Provides general nursing care to individuals in Residential Services by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Explains procedures and treatments to individuals to gain cooperation, understanding, and allay apprehension.
- Administers prescribed medication and treatments in accordance with MAP Guidelines.
- Maintains awareness of comfort and safety needs of individuals.
- Observes individuals, records significant conditions and reactions, and notifies supervisor or Physician of individual’s condition and reaction to drugs, treatments, and significant incidents.
- Takes temperature, pulse, blood pressure, and or other vital signs to detect deviations and assess condition of individuals.
- Responds to life saving situations based upon nursing standards, policies, procedures, and protocol.
- Assists the staff as needed to provide care, welfare, safety and security to clients.
- Oversee medication administration within program according to DDS regulations.
- Acts as a liaison between DDS, Day Program, and families around medical care and support.
- Complete/update medical assessments annually for ISP’s or per request of Manager.
- Responsible for monthly progress notes for each participant.
- Actively assist and support individuals as needed with personal care responsibilities, may include: diet, exercise, meal preparation, bathing, shaving, dressing, toileting etc.
- Assist and support individuals as needed with physical direct care, may include: physical or mechanical transfer of individuals from wheelchairs to van, chair, or shower etc.
- Conduct individualized medical based trainings on-site to residential staff.
- Actively assist and support individuals as needed with personal care responsibilities, may include: diet, exercise, meal preparation, bathing, shaving, dressing, toileting, etc.
- Assist and support individuals as needed with physical direct care, may include: physical or mechanical transfer of individuals from wheelchairs to van, chair, or shower etc.
- Participate in on-the-job training and provide coaching to new co-workers as directed.
- Perform additional duties or substitute for others as required, including other programs.
- Adhere to all RTR policies and procedures
Qualifications
- Current LPN License.
- Minimum of one year related experience.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and the internet.
- Successful completion of all state and agency mandated trainings including medication administration rules and regulations.
- Must be willing to authorize a Criminal History Background Check (CORI) and release of information concerning Disabled Persons Protection Commission (DPPC), Department of Developmental Services (DDS), and other agencies.

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Must be fluent in English and have the ability to read and interpret documents such as professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
