BASIC FUNCTION:

Assists to develop and maintain GIS systems; Assists with staking and design duties. Keeps system maps current and/or operates computer-assisted mapping system.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assess field work and prioritize daily work to include service areas. 5%

  • Assist with monitoring of the GIS system and addressing any problem areas. 20%

  • Assist other departments with mapping issues. 5%

  • Assist with outage monitoring / dispatching as needed. 3%

  • Assist with staking design duties as needed. 5%

  • Monitor Locator LOGiX for any 811 locate tickets and dispatch them, if needed, in a timely manner. 15%

  • Mapping of daily work in GIS system/ GPS & field mapping as needed. Correct any mapping issues/ errors. 20%

  • Assists the Engineering Department as directed. 15%

  • Run reports and deliver shape files as needed. 5%

  • Periodically perform system inspections. 3%

  • Report old inactive accounts for retirement. 3%

  • Assist as needed during major storm restoration. 1%
