Pet Adoption & Humane Education Specialist - Roanoke Valley SPCA

POSITION: Adoption and Humane Education Specialist

CLASSIFICATION: Hourly, Part-Time

SUPERVISOR: Front Office and Adoption Supervisor

SCHEDULE: Schedule Varies, four week rotating schedule

18 – 26 hours per week 11:15 am – 7:30 pm Weekends and some holidays

Humane Education programs may be outside the adoption hours, and may include evenings or Sunday.

WORK LOCATION: Roanoke Valley SPCA, but other locations may be assigned as needed to execute Adoption & Humane Education events.

POSITION SUMMARY

With the highest levels of professionalism and customer service, ensure potential adopters have a wonderful adoption experience with the Roanoke Valley SPCA. Help potential adopters through the adoption process of finding a new family member by talking with them about our available pets, the adopter’s lifestyle and home environment. Facilitate off-site adoption events.

Ensure the humane care and enrichment of the animals available for adoption at the Roanoke Valley SPCA. Ensure each available animal receives love,

compassion, daily exercise, and enrichment.

Conduct high quality humane education sessions and host informational booths to further the mission of the Roanoke Valley SPCA.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $13.00 per hour
