What are the responsibilities and job description for the Bartender position at Roar?
Roar is seeking qualified, high volume bartenders who want to enjoy a flexible, fun work environment. We want to share our love of food, cocktails, and hospitality with our guests and are looking for like-minded team members. We have recently added a state of the art arcade, and Ronnie's Country Store. We have multiple bars to work at, outdoors and indoors! Bartenders may work one single bar, or bartend events. There’s a lot of entertainment and fun to be had by our employees and guests! Please send your resume if interested! $5/hr plus tips for regular bartender shifts, $8/hr plus tip pool for banquets.
Bartenders provide exceptional service to our guests by providing information to help food and beverage selections; presenting order choices; maintaining dining ambiance and engaging with guests and providing outstanding service. Availability given by candidate is the availability that must be worked. Reliability and consistency is important for the business to function, and for everyone to work the agreed upon hours you give us in the interview process.
Essential Functions:
Food and Beverage
· Must have strong knowledge of drink preparation and applicable health standards.
· Knowledge of federal, state and local laws, ordinances and regulations and Company policy regarding serving alcohol to minors and intoxicated persons.
· Prepare and service beverages for servers and guests in a speedy, efficient, friendly, and professional manner.
· Prepare drink orders for guests according to specified recipes using measuring systems.
· Ensure that minors and intoxicated persons are not served alcoholic beverages.
· Act as cashier when necessary.
· Issue, open, and serve wine/champagne bottles.
· Attend to tables in the dining area.
· Set up and maintain cleanliness and condition of bar, bar unit, tables, and other tools. Prepare fresh garnish for drinks.
· Restock bar with liquor, ice, glassware, and paper supplies.
· Transport supplies to bar set up area.
· Wash soiled glassware. Remove soiled wares from bar top and tables and place in designated area.
· Anticipate and communicate replenish needs.
· Count bank at end of shift, complete designated cashier reports, resolve any discrepancies, drop off receipts, and secure bank. Secure liquors, beers, wines, coolers, cabinets, and storage areas.
· Complete opening and closing inventory of spirits.
Customer Service
· Take every opportunity to amaze the guests using Company Customer Service Standards.
· Smile, have eye contact, and greet guests immediately.
· Handle special requests properly; anticipate guests’ needs.
· Promptly respond and resolve guest complaints.
· Answer telephone promptly and properly being polite, courteous, and friendly.
· Be professional, friendly, thorough, and efficient in taking dining room orders.
· Present check to guests promptly.
· Actively ask for feedback from guests.
Safety and Security
· Properly handle and account for keys when necessary.
· Document all maintenance issues.
· Properly document all transactions.
· Handle and account for all cash, checks, and credit cards.
· Balance and close shift properly.
· Be knowledgeable of policies regarding emergency procedures and security concerns.
· Adhere to all state and federal requirements regarding the sale of alcohol.
· Adhere to all health department requirements.

Education and Experience:
· High school diploma or equivalent education required.
· 3 years of high-volume bar service required.

Physical Requirements:
· Most work tasks are performed indoors. Temperature is moderate and controlled by business environmental systems; however, must be able to work in extreme temperatures like freezers (-10 degrees F) and kitchens (110 degrees F) possibly.
· Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 4 hours.
· Must be able to lift trays of food or food items weighing up to 30lbs.
· Must have ability to bend, stoop, squat, and stretch to fulfill cleaning tasks.
· Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening, hearing, and visual acuity.
· Vision occurs continuously with the most common visual functions being those near vision and depth perception.
· Requires manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment, including but not limited to, cutlery used in cutting fruit.
Other Job Functions:
· All associates must maintain a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance per Company Standards.
· Regular attendance is conformance with the standards, which may be established from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position. · Due to the cyclical nature of the restaurant and hospitality industry, associates may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs. In addition, attendance at all scheduled training sessions and meetings are required.
· Upon employment, all associates are required to fully comply with the Company’s rules and regulations for the safe and effective operations of the business. Associates who violate these rules and regulations will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
