Position: 7th and 8th Grade Math Teacher
School Year: 2024-2025
Reports to: Dean of Instruction and Building Leadership Team
Purpose Statement: To inspire students to love learning by making connections, building
relationships, and teaching engaging, high-quality Math lessons in 7th and 8th-grade
classrooms.
Overview: The teacher is responsible for planning and executing highly engaging Math lessons
that go beyond just the facts to deeply understanding Math concepts and applying them to real-
world problems. With a student-centered focus, the math teacher engages students by requiring
students to use critical thinking, collaboration, and communication. Students demonstrate their
learning through exit tickets, assessments, and a cumulative unit project that is shared with a
broader audience at Demonstrations of Learning night twice per year. The middle school math
teacher is passionate about mathematics, creative in making real-life connections and
demonstrations, and gets our students ready to be successful in high school.
Essential Duties And Performance Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and teach highly engaging 7th & 8th-grade Math units that align with Colorado Academic Standards
- Design and prepare real-world application activities that relate to the math content to enhance a student’s learning experience
- Build relationships with students and staff to ensure an inclusive and supportive learning environment and work culture
- Use your knowledge of student performance and personality to provide rigorous and engaging learning experiences for all students

Work Requirements And Characteristics
Education: Minimum Bachelor’s Degree
License/Certification: Colorado Secondary Teacher License
Terms of Employment: Twelve-month position. Competitive salary ranging from $57,165 - $74,146
Evaluation: Job performance is evaluated annually by the Building Leadership Team
FLSA Status: Exempt
Working Environment/Physical Activities: Work is generally performed in a classroom
environment. Travel with students may be required. While performing the duties of this job, the
employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle or grasp objects;
and talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms and
stoop, kneel, crouch, balance or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10
pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include near and far vision, depth
perception, color, and the ability to adjust focus.
