Robert Half is seeking an ambitious, experienced Staff Accountant for a permanent position within a prestigious company in their industry. As a Staff Accountant, you will be in charge of preparing journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance and general ledger reconciliation. During the monthly close, you will also be responsible for many aspects of internal reporting. You will assist in developing and implementing accounting policies. In addition, you will review schedules for the reporting processes, take part in compliance, and interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits. This position is very involved as it will produce Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets.
Major responsibilities
- Perform the month end close and produce journal entries under minimal supervision
- Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations which include, but are not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll
- Maintain intercompany transactions, billings, and reconciliation
- Oversee depreciation, fixed asset ledgers, and reconciliation
- Partake in various department-wide initiatives
- Organize schedules for monthly payments and capital lease
- Recurring journal entries maintenance and reconciliation
- Assist in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation
- Prepare monthly balance sheet and income statement analyses for management reporting
- Survey and organize various financial data, reporting it in a useful and understandable manner
- Contribute to the implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP
- Upon request, take part in special projects and impromptu reporting
- In-depth knowledge of reconciling month end balance sheet accounts

Requirements
- Proficient with spreadsheets and databases
- Ability to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent, and to thrive in a dynamic, high pressure environment
- GAAP Accounting experience desired
- Recent and relevant accounting experience
- Proficient in ERP systems
- Detailed and have the ability work independently
- Working knowledge of spreadsheets and databases
- Ability and willingness to meet business critical deadlines
- Seizes opportunities to produce results without direct supervision
- Outstanding organizational, written and verbal communication skills required
- BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
- Exceptional analytical, quantitative and social skills
Salary : $58,000 - $65,000
