A burgeoning, innovative Wholesale Distribution company is on the hunt for an Accounting Manager to manage the daily full-cycle accounting functions and staff for the company and its related entities. The Accounting Manager will report to the Controller, supervise a team of 4-5 accountants and oversee all transactions entered into the company's accounting software. Based in the Springfield, Virginia area, this Accounting Manager position is a terrific opportunity for permanent employment. Your responsibilities
- Manage daily accounting transactions.
- Build management and financial reports.
- Comply with audit and internal control procedures.
- Administer the month end and year end close procedures for the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements.
- Prepare work papers.
- Deliver financial statements to the Controller and leadership team.
- Aid in financial statement preparation and review; gather data for footnote preparation.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly bank compliance reports.
- Review and approve balance sheet reconciliations prepared by the accounting staff.
- Coordinate the annual audit process with external auditors.
- Coordinate the annual tax process with external accountants.
- Maintain the existing accounting system and ensure compliance with US GAAP.
- Manage real estate and sales & use tax filings.
- Implement, manage, and maintain lease accounting and reporting.
- Support the Controller with special projects and workflow process improvements.
- Initiate month end and quarter end close review with staff and identify opportunities for efficiencies.
