Robert Half presently has an opening for an Accounts Payable (A/P) Clerk. Based out of the Annapolis, Maryland area, the Accounts Payable Clerk will be a short-term contract / temporary opening. The Accounts Payable Clerk will match and batch code invoices, resolve A/P issues, process expense reports, update and reconcile sub-ledger to G/L, and process checks.

Responsibilities
- Execute daily processes and controls accurately and in a timely manner; ensuring compliance with company policies
- Provide customer service to internal business partners
- Assist with internal and external audits as needed
- Manage department mail by opening, sorting, and distributing it on a daily basis
- Support the AP/Finance Department by completing administrative tasks
- Carry out additional projects as required
- Manage the process of verifying, logging, and mailing checks, including expediting special handling
- Maintain proper storage of invoices, checks, and other documents by organizing, logging, scanning, and filing them
- Carry out a full-cycle A/P
- Strong communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills, especially with both technical and financial backgrounds
- AA or BS/BA degree in Accounting, Business or similar preferred
- Prior experience in an A/P role preferred
- Attention to detail and proven ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement
- Deep understanding of Check Runs
- Accounts Payable (AP) experience preferred
- Invoice Processing experience preferred
- Account reconciliation experience
- Ability to work within spreadsheets and databases
