Hybrid, preferred to work onsite in Nashville two days a week. Assistance for relocation to Nashville can be provided. Positions also open in Orlando, FL and San Dimas, CA.

The Application Architect will oversee the lifecycle of new development on existing and future products. In this role, you will be reviewing product requirements, designing product architecture, and managing daily product development efforts. You will be responsible for translating product specifications into production level applications as well as managing complex interactions between business processes and technologies.
Key responsibilities
- Help with product release planning and assessing feature viability/effort.
- Invent and document solutions to product specifications for shared capabilities throughout the architecture.
- Carry out other related duties as assigned by management.
- Aid in writing the technical section of functional specifications for new product development.
- Play a hands-on role in code development for web-based n-tier applications.
- Facilitate code reviews, calling out best practices and steps for increased stability and capability.
- Design, establish, and maintain technical architecture standards and develop cross-product frameworks and best practices.
- Own the product development timeline.
- Provide technical and non-technical mentorship and oversight to developers.
- Work with the product team to understand requirements and create functionality specifications.
- Guide team members to grow abilities and strengthen capabilities.
- Define and evolve development standards, guidelines, procedures, processes, and metrics.
- Govern the deployment of alpha and beta releases during the stabilization of new product development.
Requirements
- Development of realistic plans, goals, and aligning plans with company goals, managing resources, and creating contingency plans.
- Ability to prioritize and decompose components of large systems.
- Familiarity with common software development, scripting languages .NET, Python, Shell, Powershell.
- Excellent understanding of SQL database design.
- Prior experience consulting with business analysis, data management, system architecture, and distributed technologies.
- 5 years of experience in team management in a related field.
- Experience with creating, debugging, securing, testing, and optimizing code for multiple web-based applications and services .
- Dedication and requisite skills to meet critical business deadlines
- 10 years of experience in application development, software design, and architecture preferred with SQL & .NET.
- Ability to work independently and lead small teams.
- Ability to document issues and proposed improvements while evaluating an existing architecture
- Proficient with threading, asynchronous event handling, data binding, scripting and query languages/tools.
- BA/BS in Software Engineering or Computer Science.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, including presentation experience.
- Ability to learn new technologies related to the Web and application development.
