Assistant Controller

Description

We are in search of an Assistant Controller to join our team in La Grange, KY. The Assistant Controller will play a crucial role in supporting our accounting processes, ensuring accuracy in our accounting systems, and contributing to process improvement projects. This role is pivotal in maintaining the financial health of our operations by accurately managing project costs and conducting financial analysis.

Essential functions include but are not limited to the following:

• Provides support to the Project Management team related to project cost inquiries, cost transfers and general project cost oversight.
• Works with the Project Management and Accounting to ensure contract values and change orders are accurate in the system, processes changes to cost projections and prepares the monthly Work in Process (WIP) calculation
• Provides project financial analysis, with emphasis on contract value and cost updates, as well as cost to complete changes among projects
• Supports the Accounting Department in process improvement projects to gain efficiencies and ensure best practices
• Responsible for weekly payroll labor posting and oversight of API creation by third-party provider
• Assists in monthly financial close process
• Works with external auditors and provides needed information for the annual audit.
• Files quarterly and annual reports, as needed.
• Assists Controller with duties when unavailable due to meetings or vacation
• Identifies and addresses potential safety hazards.
• Adheres to all safety protocols and regulations.

B.S. Accounting or Finance

7 years of accounting experience

Construction experience- WIP Reporting

Extensive reconciliation experience
