Staff Auditor or Senior Auditor
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, or equivalent; CPA seeking preferred ;
Mid-size public accounting firm located in the western suburbs of Chicago public accounting experience a plus for entry level roles to provide auditing to variety of clients. . Participate in a variety of engagements for privately held corporations, governmental and not-for-profit entities. Possess a comprehensive understanding of the firm’s guidelines for quality control and the AICPA’s Code of Conduct. Develop a working knowledge of the firm services, software, research tools, systems and processes, and apply them with support and direction. Ensure all workpapers (and work performed) provide adequate detail of work performed are complete, accurate, well-organized, indexed, cross-referenced,
§ Work on and research complex accounting, reporting, and tax issues, including assignments involving “theory” and such “conceptual” areas as materiality and interrelationship of accounts.
§ Review and analyze systems of internal control, determine nature and extent of test of controls, and if applicable determine if control deficiencies exist.
§ Prepare income tax returns, identify matters of tax significance, and audit current and deferred income tax.
§ Understand audit objectives and apply appropriate procedures
§ Maintain complete and accurate workpapers that provide disposition on accounting issues, test exceptions, and conclusions reached.
