Your responsibilities will include the preparation of financial statements; the establishment and preservation of the accounting principles, practices, procedures, and initiatives of the business; and all other general accounting and bookkeeping tasks. Based in Southaven, Tennessee, the Full Charge Bookkeeper role is a long-term contract / contract / contract / contract / temporary to permanent opportunity.
How you will make an impact
- Maintaining historical records by filing documents
- Supervising tasks of accounting clerks and entry-level bookkeepers
- Studying and adhering to federal, state, and local legal requirements, filing reports, and detailing needed actions to management
- Performing reconciliations for bank and general ledgers, as well as payroll processing
- Executing accounts payable and accounts receivable tasks, such as collections
- Putting together the trial balance and financial statements, including balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow statement
- Tracking fixed assets and constructing depreciation schedules
- Ensuring monthly, quarterly and year end close happens accurately and on time
Requirements
- Highly capable of analyzing financial data and quickly creating accurate reports
- 3 or more years of experience in the bookkeeping field
- Accounts Payable (AP) experience
- Knowledge of Accounts Receivable (AR)
- Strong organization skills
- Able to work independently with a minimal amount of oversight
- Excel, Quickbooks, and Peachtree experience desired
- Demonstrated flexibility to adapt to changes in procedures and job assignments
- High school diploma or comparable diploma with an AA degree or higher in Accounting or Business preferred
- Background in payroll preferred
- Experienced in accrual and cash basis of accounting
- Ability to multitask and communicate well with individuals of all backgrounds
