Our client, a reputable and well-respected, Baltimore based national non-profit is seeking a CFO to join the company. The organization employs a highly innovative model to achieve its objectives, and with a very strong leadership guiding its path, has been extremely successful in achieving its noble objectives. They are looking for a CFO who must have an ability to work well with the CEO, board members and other senior executives, as well as strong analytical, strategic-planning, operational and communication skills. The CFO will oversee all compliance and recognition for government (federal, state and local) contracts and private grants. They must be able to adapt to a continually evolving environment and thrive in an autonomous and deadline-oriented workplace while managing a successful finance and HR department. How you will make an impact
- Coordinate the development and monitoring of budgets.
- Develop and utilize forward-looking, predictive models and activity-based financial analyses to provide insight into the organization’s operations and business plans.
- Oversee cash flow planning and ensure availability of funds as needed.
- Manage internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures
- Engage the finance committee of the board of directors to develop short-, medium-, and long-term financial plans and projections.
- Represent the company to financial partners, including financial institutions, investors, foundation executives, auditors, public officials, etc.
- Remain up to date on nonprofit audit best practices and state and federal law regarding nonprofit operations.
- Handle all relationships with vendors
- Hire, train and retain accounting and finance staff
- Examine the organization's operations and determine if cash flow is appropriate
- Oversee independent auditor relationships
- Supervise all finance personnel
- Take care of financial systems implementations and upgrades
- Provide strategic management of the accounting and finance functions
- Own process improvement for the integrity of a company's financial information
- Recognize and control insurance requirements and business risks
- Enforce staff compliance with company policies and state and federal laws
- Develop and maintain relationships with investment institutions and investors

Requirements
- Public accounting experience a plus
- Deep technical background in public accounting (GAAP)
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel
- Bachelors in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
- 5 years' management experience
- Superb organizational and leadership skills required
- Excellent written, verbal and social communication skills highly desired
- MBA, CPA, CGMA or CMA preferred
- 10 years' experience in accounting or finance
Salary : $160,000 - $225,000
