The role involves directing the organization's investment activities, overseeing accounting departments, and managing various financial operations within the credit union industry. The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is responsible for the financial management, planning, and risk management operations of the credit union. This includes the development of a financial and operational strategy, metrics tied to that strategy, and the ongoing development and monitoring of control systems designed to preserve company assets and report accurate financial results.Responsibilities:• Formulate and execute investment policies and financial forecasts, ensuring efficient control, accounting for assets and securities• Oversee accounting departments, providing guidance and training to staff, evaluating performance, and ensuring the provision of efficient Accounting/Finance Operations services• Prepare comprehensive financial reports, ensuring complete and accurate financial, statistical, and accounting records of the Credit Union• Manage and direct investments, budgeting, audits, accounting, and other financial activities, reviewing operational procedures to optimize efficiency and reduce costs• Collaborate with auditors/examiners on year-end and comprehensive audits, collecting and analyzing data to support internal/external audits• Develop, review, and distribute financial policy and procedure statements to ensure regulatory and policy compliance• Direct the preparation and evaluation of budgets and capital plans, overseeing the receipt, disbursement, and expenditures of money or capital assets, and projecting income, expenses, and asset/liability growth
