Responsibilities
- Ensure client satisfaction by reviewing deliverables of self and team
- Manage monthly and annual close of income statement and balance sheet, the reconciliations of accounts, and G/L analysis
- Lead the operations of the finance department which includes accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll
- Time monthly billing and other cash management techniques to make sure cash collection is punctual
- Assess, execute and streamline policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies
- Collaborate with executive team and partners to make efficient and effective firm-wide operation possible
- Prepare cash-flow reports that project cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals, and handle daily cash management
- Each month, present executive committee and partners with financial reports
- Able to perform additional tasks beyond formal job duties
- Manage the production of the annual budget and forecasts and monitor on a monthly basis
- Support Finance Department initiatives, such as software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, with research, planning, and implementation, as required
Requirements
- Ability to prioritize work and balance multiple projects and deadlines
- High attention to detail and possesses excellent organizational and writing skills
- Demonstrated ability to build and deliver effective presentations to audiences with wide-ranging backgrounds
- Top notch analytical, quantitative and social skills
- 7 years of progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred
- BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field
- Outstanding technology, analytics and management experience required
- Sound written and verbal communication skills
- Self-driven motivator who takes initiative on projects with a strong ability to understand and solve creative challenges
- Earlier experience in public accounting is highly valued
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic, high pressure environment, to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent
- CPA or MBA preferred
- Practical knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Accounts Payable (AP) experience highly desired
- Financial statement preparation experience desired
- Command of month end closings
- Proficiency in account reconciliation
- General ledger experience preferred
- Proven knowledge of Accounts Receivable (AR)
- General familiarity with Sage 100
- Well-founded grasp of Internal Control
