Your responsibilities in this role
- Manage the creation of the annual budget and forecasts and monitor them on a monthly basis
- Inspect deliverables of self and team to ensure that they meet client expectations
- Collaborate with executive team and partners to make efficient and effective firm-wide operation possible
- Complete month-end and year-end close of income statement and balance sheet, reconcile accounts, and handle G/L analysis
- Evaluate, apply and refine policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies
- Give financial reports to executive committee and partners each month
- Produce cash-flow reports, calculating cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals, and manage daily cash
- Able to perform additional tasks beyond formal job duties
- Support punctual cash collection by managing the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques
- Support Finance Department initiatives, such as software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, with research, planning, and implementation, as required
- Manage finance department operations, including accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll
Requirements
- Sage 300 experience desired
- Month end closings experience preferred
- Microsoft Excel experience preferred
- Deep understanding of Power BI
- Wide ranging experience with cash management
- Well-founded grasp of financial analysis
- US GAAP experience
- General familiarity with financial analysis
- Practical knowledge of Financial Analytics
- Proven knowledge of budget forecasting
- Quality experience with financial statement preparation
- BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field
- CPA/MBA preferred
- Strong organizational skills and a proven ability to meet deadlines
- Prior experience in a public accounting environment is highly valued
- Excellent verbal, written, and social skills
- Candidate must possess first-rate analytical, quantitative and social skills
- Ability to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent, and to thrive in a dynamic, high pressure environment
- Skilled in the construction and delivery of effective presentations to audiences with wide-ranging backgrounds
- Attentive, ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
- 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred
- Excellent technology, analytics and management experience required
