Controller

A prominent services company is looking to grow its team by hiring a Controller through Robert Half. In this leadership role, you will manage an accounting and clerical department. As the Controller, your tasks will include planning and directing all accounting operational functions, managing the accumulation and consolidation of financial information for internal and external financial statements, assessing accounting and internal control systems, and guiding departmental staff. What you get to do every day

- Respond on items beyond formal job responsibilities

- Manage monthly and annual close of income statement and balance sheet, the reconciliations of accounts, and G/L analysis

- Work closely with executive team and partners to facilitate efficient and effective firm-wide operation

- Manage the production of the annual budget and forecasts and monitor on a monthly basis

- Give executive committee and partners monthly financial reports

- Drive the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques to ensure the timely cash collection

- Research, plan and implement Finance Department initiatives including software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, as needed

- Analyze, apply and improve policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies

- Lead the operations of the finance department which includes accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll

- Review and revise deliverables of self and team to ensure that they meet client expectations

- Prepare cash-flow reports, projecting cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals, daily cash management

Requirements

- Comprehension of Develop Financial Models

- Skills in Complex Financial Analysis

- Month-end Close Activities experience

- Good understanding of Consolidated Financial

- Knowledge of Financial Records

- Practical knowledge of Annual Financial Reporting

- Wide ranging experience with Audited Financial Statements

- General familiarity with financial auditing

- Solid understanding of financial reporting

- Month-end Reports experience

- Foundational knowledge in Financial Statement

- Previous experience working with Complex Financial Models

- Proven knowledge of Monthly Account Reconciliation

- Experience with Financial Aspects

- Solid understanding of financial reconciliation

- Month end closings experience

- Month-end Journal Entries experience preferred

- Proficiency in Month-end Financial

- Strong familiarity with Financial Services

- Experience with Financial Risk

- Prior experience with financial analysis

- Well-founded grasp of Monthly Accruals

- Hands-on experience with Financial Analytics

- Quality experience with financial auditing

- Earlier work involving Consolidated Financial Statements

- Excellent verbal, written, and social skills

- High attention to detail

- Proven analytical skills - defining problems, collecting relevant data, drawing valid conclusions, and recommending improvement/corrective actions

- Self-starter with efficient time management and organizational skills

- Progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred

- Outstanding technology, analytics and management experience required

- Able to build and deliver effective presentations to audiences with wide-ranging backgrounds

- Comfortable working in a changing and dynamic environment

- CPA or MBA preferred

- Prior work done in public accounting is desired

- BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field

- Ability to handle multiple projects within strict deadlines

Salary : $140,000 - $180,000
