This reputable company is seeking a Controller through Robert Half who has a knack for leading with high standards, positively motivating others, and making critical decisions and have experience taking charge of an accounting department. The ideal candidate for this position can plan and direct all accounting operational functions, handle the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, evaluate accounting and internal control systems, and lead departmental staff. Key responsibilities
- Advance Finance Department initiatives, such as software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, as needed, with research, planning and implementation
- Analyze, apply and improve policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies
- Manage the creation of the annual budget and forecasts and monitor them on a monthly basis
- Collaborate with executive team and partners to make efficient and effective firm-wide operation possible
- Manage monthly and annual close of income statement and balance sheet, the reconciliations of accounts, and G/L analysis
- Manage the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques to make sure cash collection is on time
- Assess deliverables of self and team to verify they meet client expectations
- Present executive committee and partners with monthly financial reports
- Perform duties beyond formal job responsibilities
Requirements
- Advanced credentials such as a Masters of Business Administration / MBA or Certified Public Accountant / CPA are preferred
- Ability to communicate verbally and in writing effectively throughout all levels of the company
- Standard Costing experience required
- Excellent technology, analytics and management experience required
- 7 years of progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller in the manufacturing
- Strong organizational skills and a proven ability to meet deadlines
- Takes action on items beyond formal job responsibilities
- BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field
- Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic and constantly changing company environment
- Able to build and deliver effective presentations to audiences with wide-ranging backgrounds
Salary : $140,000 - $160,000
