Job Description:
We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Controller for our small manufacturing plant. The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of Work in Progress (WIP), job costing, financial reporting, accounting, and significant oversight of HR functions in a manufacturing setting.
Responsibilities:
Oversee and manage all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems ensuring compliance with appropriate GAAP standards and regulatory requirements.
Maintain internal control safeguards for the receipt of revenue, costs, and both team and organizational budgets and actual expenditures.
Implement job costing, including raw material, labor, and overhead costs.
In cooperation with the management, prepare the plant's annual budget, forecasts, and financial planning.
Monitor and analyze monthly operating results against budget and manage the production of the annual budget and forecasts.
Coordinate all audit activity and ensure timely and accurate completion of annual tax returns and financial statements.
Control capital expenditure and fixed assets.
Oversee all HR-related functions such as payroll, benefits, and employee incentives.
Develop and implement finance, accounting, billing, and auditing procedures.
Develop, maintain, and analyze budgets, preparing periodic reports that compare budgeted costs to actual costs.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in business, Accounting, Finance, or related field required. Advanced degree preferred.
A minimum of 7 years of experience in a similar manufacturing industry role.
Knowledge of WIP, job costing, and overhead cost allocation.
Strong human resources management skills.
Excellent verbal, analytical, organizational, and written skills.
Knowledge in the usage of financial software and highly proficient in MS Excel.
Strong understanding of GAAP, tax laws, and government compliance regulations pertaining to the manufacturing industry.
Good leadership skills with a proven track record in finance administration.
Ability to handle multiple tasks, with awareness of deadlines.
