Responsibilities Include
- Comprehensive knowledge of U.S. GAAP, GASB. Play an integral role in managing the day-to-day operations of the Finance Department.
- Responsible for all general accounting functions including month-end closing preparation, monthly accounting reconciliations, and ensuring the company financial transactions are properly recorded
- Prepare and analyze month end financial reports
- Prepare documentation for External Auditors
- Ensures proper accounting and financial reporting activities in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles, sound business practices, and relevant local, state, and federal regulations.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting or related field
- Previous experience and comprehensive knowledge of GASB accounting (i.e., fund accounting)
- 6 years of accounting experience required
- Ability to work independently
- Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to be onsite in Martinsville at least 2 days a week
