As an Electrical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and documenting electrical and control systems that meet customer requirements for machine control, performance, safety, and quality. You will ensure compliance with industry standards such as UL, CE, and other relevant regulations. Your expertise in control system design and electrical engineering will contribute to the successful creation of machines and systems based on customer specifications.
Responsibilities:
• Design and engineer machines and systems according to customer specifications.
• Ensure adherence to machine safety standards (e.g., CE, UL, OSHA, NFPA) and design electromechanical systems that prioritize operator safety.
• Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of control system design principles for machine building, including power distribution, load balancing, servo motion, process and control I/O, and machine safety.
• Develop and modify electrical control system schematics.
• Design electrical and control enclosures, considering power requirements and industry best practices.
• Determine electrical enclosure sizing and cooling requirements.
• Create detailed Bill-of-Material (BOM) for electrical and enclosure components.
• Maintain accurate records of engineering data and machine files for all projects.
• Contribute to the creation of machine manuals as directed by the project manager.
• Effectively communicate project needs, results, scheduling, and budgetary issues to the project manager.
• Actively participate in debugging and commissioning of machines when required.
• Collaborate closely with service personnel to troubleshoot machines and stay updated on emerging issues.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of electromechanical system design and development.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• 2 years of electrical design experience in industrial controls, processing, or machine building.
• Strong background in designing electrical control systems.
• Proficiency in working with servo motors for machine applications.
• Experience in PLC programming (Siemens, Allen Bradley, etc.) and traditional programming languages (C, C , etc.) for control systems.
• Familiarity with Solidworks and/or AutoCAD preferred.
• Knowledge of CNC controls and G-code is a plus.
• Understanding of power distribution and power quality, including harmonics and noise.
• Experience with control sensors such as optical, inductive, capacitive, and mechanical sensors.
• Strong problem-solving skills and effective communication abilities (both oral and written).
• Ability to conceptualize solutions for complex problems.
• Familiarity with concurrent engineering or phased development processes.
