We are looking to recruit an Estimating Assistant for our client in the manufacturing industry. The successful candidate will be an integral member of the team and will work closely with purchasing, project management, and sales departments to provide accurate cost projections for a diverse range of projects.
Responsibilities:
- Assist project estimating team in reviewing client requirements and identifying materials, labor, and time requirements to complete projects.
- Participate in the preparation and submission of project bids, tenders, and cost estimates.
- Liaise with suppliers and contractors to gather pricing and delivery information.
- Work closely with the sales team to develop and present completed quotes to customers.
- Monitor and adjust estimates in response to changes in client needs, market conditions, or supply cost variations.
- Prepare and maintain documents related to past, present, and future estimates, including supporting material.
- Collaborate in project pre-planning, including analyzing the project for value engineering opportunities.
- Assist in preparing and reviewing contracts and project proposals.
- Assist in forecasting project budgets and prepare reports to track actual project costs versus the estimate.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree in business, economics, engineering, or a related field preferred
- One or more years of experience in cost estimation or similar field, preferably in the manufacturing industry
- Excellent numerical and analytical skills.
- Effective communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and set priorities effectively.
- Knowledge of the manufacturing industry and the ability to comprehend technical documentation.
- Exceptional attention to detail and precision.
