Compensation: $50000.00 to $60000.00 yearly
Robert Half has an opening for an experienced, driven Senior Accountant to provide leadership and know-how to a growing team. This is a permanent opportunity in the Grand Haven, Michigan area. As a Senior Accountant, your responsibilities will include financial statement preparation and consolidation, account analysis and reconciliations, cash flow analysis, budgets and forecasting, audit preparation, and internal control maintenance and regulatory reporting. Your responsibilities in this role
- Provide analysis on financial results (trends, performance metrics, benchmarks)
- Offer involvement in various department-wide initiatives
- When working with business partners, ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies, procedures and controls. Additionally, be able to provide support on special requests
- Produce error-free monthly accounting close procedures and deliverables such as journal entries, reconciliations, reports in compliance with GAAP
- Manage Ad-hoc projects as necessary
- Aid in coordinating quarterly reviews and testing with internal and external auditors
- Provide monthly consolidated P& L and Balance Sheet flux analysis for management reporting
- Provide Balance Sheet account reconciliations
- Dedication to continuously improve the automation of the accounting and reporting process
- 3-5 years of overall general accounting experience, ideally with Big 4 experience
- SEC reporting and SOX compliance is a plus
- General familiarity with Automated Payroll
- Deep understanding of Accrual Accounting
- Experience with Accounts Receivable (AR)
- Accounts Payable (AP) experience
- Well-founded grasp of Credit Card Reconciliation
- Practical knowledge of Quickbooks Online
- Proven knowledge of account reconciliation
- Accrual Accounting experience
- Accruals experience
- BA/BS in Accounting, CPA credentials are preferred
- Ability to work in a dynamic and changing environment
- Detailed and have the ability work independently
- Experience with ERP systems
- Understanding of corporate performance management (CPM) and business intelligence systems required
- Exemplary analytical, quantitative and social skills
- Strong communication skills and able to receive criticism well
- Accounting experience in publicly-traded company a plus
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
- Seizes opportunities to produce results without direct supervision
