The role will be responsible for all general accounting and bookkeeping functions including the preparation of financial statements. You will also be establishing and maintaining the organization's accounting principles, practices, procedures, and initiatives.What you get to do every single day- Handling bank and general ledger reconciliations, as well as payroll processing- Preparing the trial balance and financial statements, including balance sheet and statements regarding income and cash flows- Studying and implementing federal, state, and local legal requirements, filing reports, and communicating with management on needed actions- Handling processing tasks for accounts payable and accounts receivable, including collections- Managing accounting clerks and entry-level bookkeepers- Retaining historical records through the accurate filing of documents- Ensuring monthly, quarterly and year end close happens accurately and on time- Tracking fixed assets to produce depreciation schedules
