What you get to do every day
- Ensuring accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end close
- Preserving historical records through accurate filing of documents
- Tracking fixed assets and preparing depreciation schedules
- Studying and adhering to federal, state, and local legal requirements, filing reports, and detailing needed actions to management
- Producing the trial balance and financial statements, including, but not limited to, balance sheet and statements of income and of cash flows
- Completing bank and general ledger reconciliations; processing payroll
- Overseeing accounting clerks and entry-level bookkeepers
- Processing accounts payable and accounts receivable; handling collections as needed
Requirements
- Experienced in accrual and cash basis of accounting
- 2 years of experience in the bookkeeping field
- Highly capable of analyzing financial data and quickly creating accurate reports
- Ability to multitask and meet deadlines
- Be creative, adaptive, and eager to learn new technical skill sets
- Strong organization skills
- Able to work independently with a minimal amount of oversight
- Proficiency with Quickbooks and Peachtree
- Foundational knowledge in QuickBooks Enterprise
- Billing experience
- Comprehensive knowledge of Accounts Payable (AP)
- Experience with Microsoft Excel
- Accounts Receivable (AR) experience
- Previous experience with payroll preferred
- High school diploma or similar accreditation, and an AA degree or higher in Accounting or Business recommended
