Robert Half is seeking candidates for an excellent Full Charge Bookkeeper opportunity. Are you proficient at multitasking, communicating, organizing, and managing your time? Do you want an opportunity to grow? Then this role could be the right fit for you! Your responsibilities will include the preparation of financial statements; the establishment and preservation of the accounting principles, practices, procedures, and initiatives of the business; and all other general accounting and bookkeeping tasks. This long-term contract / temporary Full Charge Bookkeeper opportunity is based in Woonsocket, Rhode Island.

What you get to do every day

- Performing accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, including collections

- Performing reconciliations for bank and general ledgers, as well as payroll processing

- Completing monthly, quarterly, and year end close, on time and in an accurate manner

- Supervising tasks of accounting clerks and entry-level bookkeepers

- Maintaining adherence to federal, state, and local legal requirements by keeping up to date on them, filing reports, and advising management on needed actions

- Producing the trial balance and financial statements, including, but not limited to, balance sheet and statements of income and of cash flows

- Maintaining historical records by filing documents

- Following progress of fixed assets to prepare depreciation schedules

Requirements

- Demonstrated flexibility to adapt to changes in procedures

- A deep understanding of accrual and cash basis of accounting

- Background in payroll preferred

- High school diploma or similar certification with an AA degree or higher in Accounting or Business recommended

- Competence with financial data analysis and report generation that is prompt and accurate

- 3 or more years of experience in the bookkeeping field

- Solid understanding of QuickBooks

- Strong familiarity with payroll

- Income Statements experience

- Knowledge of Accounts Payable (AP)

- Prepare Balance Sheets experience highly desired

- Ability to multitask efficiently and prioritize work

- Capable of working independently with minimal oversight

- Strong organization skills with a sense of urgency and capable of prioritizing multiple tasks

- Prior experience with Excel and Peachtree
