There is an excellent opportunity at Robert Half for a Full Charge Bookkeeper. Are you proficient at multitasking, communicating, organizing, and managing your time? You will be responsible for all general accounting and bookkeeping functions, such as preparing financial statements, and establishing and maintaining accounting principles, practices, procedures, and initiatives. The long-term contract / temporary Full Charge Bookkeeper will work in Troy, New York.
Key responsibilities
- Retaining historical records through the accurate filing of documents
- Processing accounts payable and accounts receivable; handling collections as needed
- Supervising tasks of accounting clerks and entry-level bookkeepers
- Ensuring monthly, quarterly and year end close happens accurately and on time
- Studying and adhering to federal, state, and local legal requirements, filing reports, and detailing needed actions to management
- Assembling the trial balance and financial statements, including balance sheet and income and cash flow statements
- Preparing depreciation schedules by tracking fixed assets
- Completing bank and general ledger reconciliations; processing payroll

Requirements
- Strong organization skills
- Able to work independently with a minimal amount of oversight
- Proficient at analyzing financial data and promptly creating accurate reports
- Accounts Receivable (AR) experience preferred
- Payroll experience highly desired
- Proficiency in Check Runs
- Comprehensive knowledge of Accounts Payable (AP)
- Cash posting experience preferred
- Knowledgeable of accrual and cash basis of accounting
- Prior payroll experience preferred
- 3 years of bookkeeping experience
- Ability to multitask and communicate effectively with individuals of all backgrounds
- Excel, Quickbooks, and Peachtree experience desired
- Proven flexibility to adapt to changes in procedures and job assignments
- High school diploma or comparable diploma with an AA degree or higher in Accounting or Business preferred
Salary : $25 - $35
