The Health and Safety Manager will play a pivotal role in overseeing and enhancing our warehouse health and safety systems. This position requires a strategic thinker with a keen eye for detail and a deep understanding of warehouse operations. You will be responsible for developing and enforcing rigorous safety protocols, ensuring adherence to all relevant health and safety laws, and cultivating a culture of safety across all levels of our operation.Key Responsibilities:Develop, implement, and monitor comprehensive health and safety policies and SOPs tailored to warehouse operations, including but not limited to receiving, storage, picking, packing, and shipping.Conduct detailed risk assessments and job hazard analyses to identify potential risks associated with warehouse activities, machinery, and equipment, and devise mitigation strategies.Lead the development and execution of safety training programs, including hazardous material handling, forklift operation certification, ergonomic lifting techniques, and emergency response procedures.Oversee the maintenance and inspection of warehouse equipment and personal protective equipment (PPE) to ensure they meet safety standards.Coordinate with warehouse supervisors and team leaders to implement safety measures and protocols effectively, ensuring seamless integration into daily operations.Manage the safety data sheet (SDS) repository, ensuring all materials stored and handled in the warehouse are properly documented and employees are informed of associated risks.Investigate incidents and near-misses, conducting root cause analyses and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.Liaise with external health and safety consultants and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with the latest safety regulations and best practices.Promote a culture of continuous improvement in health and safety through regular safety meetings, bulletins, and feedback mechanisms.
