Job Title: IT Support Technician
Job Summary
Robert Half is currently seeking an experienced IT Support Tech for our client in Southern Wisconsin. This is a Direct/Permanent Hire role that will require onsite work.
As a member of the IT Support team, you'll be instrumental in providing technical assistance to both end-users and IT staff. Your responsibilities will include addressing complex technical challenges, conducting thorough diagnostics, and deploying resolutions to maintain the functionality of IT systems and infrastructure. This position calls for individuals with a solid grasp of technical concepts, adept problem-solving abilities, and a penchant for teamwork across various departments.
Job Responsibilities:
Serve as a point of escalation for on-site technical issues.
Conduct in-depth analysis and troubleshooting of hardware, software, and network problems, providing timely resolution and proactive communication to stakeholders.
Work alongside our third-party support provider.
Monitor and maintain servers, network infrastructure, and enterprise systems (e.g., Active Directory, Exchange, SharePoint).
Serve as the on-site point of contact to assist with configuring and managing virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) and cloud services (e.g., AWS, Azure).
Assist in enforcing IT policies, security controls, and access permissions in accordance with best practices and regulatory requirements.
Monitor and optimize network performance, identifying and resolving issues to ensure maximum uptime and reliability.
Assist MSP with managing backups, disaster recovery plans, and business continuity measures to safeguard critical data and systems.
Coordinate with vendors and service providers for hardware procurement, maintenance, and support.
Maintain accurate documentation of IT systems, configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps. Provide basic training and guidance to end-users on IT tools, applications, and best practice.
Requirements
Required Skills/Abilities:
Strong proficiency in Windows and/or Linux server environments, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and TCP/IP networking.
Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V) and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure).
Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and common business software applications.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex IT issues independently.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-centric approach to service delivery.
Ability to prioritize tasks and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
