What are the responsibilities and job description for the IT Desktop Engineer position at Robert Half?
Robert Half is in search of an IT Desktop Engineer for a global alternative investment manager operating in the credit, private equity and real estate markets.
The ideal candidate will possess expertise in configuring and managing corporate Windows 10 machines, while handling tasks related to white-glove support, Office 365 Administration, MS Teams setup/conferencing, SCCM imaging, JIRA documentation, group policies, AD provisioning, ServiceNow ticket tracking, PowerShell, and server monitoring. The Desktop Engineer will focus on evaluating, certifying, and ensuring that end user hardware (laptops, workstations, mobile devices, and certain peripherals) are compatible and fully supported within the environment from a driver and compatibility perspective. The Desktop Engineer will also focus on supporting escalations which originate from the Service Desk or Production Support team. These escalations may require opening support cases with hardware OEMs or key enterprise vendors such Microsoft and ensuring that recommended improvements are deployed to production as needed.
IT Desktop Engineer Responsibilities:
- Office 365 Administration
- Server Monitoring
- Enterprise Desktop support
- Active Directory – Adding Group Policies, Password Resets
- Windows 10 upgrades and resolve issues as noted.
- SCCM, Imaging, Deployments, Patching
- Evaluate end user hardware and ensure compatibility and driver availability.
- Open and manage support cases with key enterprise vendors (e.g. HP, Microsoft) for escalations and projects which require expertise from the vendor.
- Participate in daily team stand-up meeting to provide status on work items and request help from colleagues if any blockers exist.
