Robert Half is currently working with a company in south Charlotte who is looking to add a Sr. Accountant to their team with a focus on lease accounting. Key parts of the role include preparing and consolidating financial statements, analyzing and reconciling accounts, analyzing cash flow, working with the lease accounting, assisting with audits, and other special projects. How you will make an impact
- Execute monthly accounting close procedures and deliverables (journal entries, reconciliations, reports) in compliance with GAAP
- Lease Accounting for their many locations throughout the US
- Uphold company standards when working with business partners to ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies, procedures and controls; while also providing support on special requests when required
- Allocate and prepare monthly consolidated P& L and Balance Sheet flux analysis reports for management
- Present analysis on financial results such as trends, performance metrics, benchmarks, etc.
- Aid in coordinating quarterly reviews and testing with internal and external auditors
- Manage Ad-hoc projects as necessary
- Participate in various department-wide initiatives
- Continuously analyze current automation of the accounting and reporting process and present improvement suggestions
- Present Balance Sheet account reconciliations
Requirements
- SOX internal control assessments (Section 404) experience
- Experience working in a dynamic and changing company environment a plus
- Skilled at time management
- Efficient in ERP systems
- BA/BS in Accounting, CPA credentials are preferred
- Prior work done in public accounting is desired
- 3 years of overall general accounting experience, ideally with Big 4 experience
- Strong communication skills, both verbally and in writing
- Comprehensive knowledge of Lease Accounting
- Attention to detail and proven ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement
- Extraordinary analytical, quantitative and social skills
- Self-driven motivator who takes initiative on projects with a strong ability to understand and solve creative challenges
- Corporate performance management (CPM) and business intelligence systems experience a plus
- Dedication and requisite skills to meet critical business deadlines
