JOB PURPOSE:
The Content Specialist is a part of the Communications team, producing printed materials and digital resources that disseminates key information that supports organization.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Develops, designs and produces in-house publications and multimedia presentations that are consistent with the mission of organization. This includes such communications as bulletins and slides for services, pre-service projections and announcements as well as annual reports, inserts, booklets, flyers, brochures and various special printed material.
2. Ensures copyright compliance for the use of all printed and projected materials.
3. Designs and creates monthly newsletter, and the weekly flyer. Creates layout, produces finished product, prints, distributes and disseminates appropriately.
4. Ensures high-quality materials with a high value on accuracy.
5. Adapts written text to match standardized format.
6. Maintains physical and digital files of printed materials and related content.
7. Demonstrates clear communication, brand presence and consistency.
8. Ensures timely printing, assembly, and distribution.
9. Coordinates with the Content Manager to ensure deadlines are met, final products meet standards and are disseminated appropriately.
10. Participates as appropriate in brainstorming sessions and team meetings.
11. Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing or Graphic Design or equivalent years of experience.
2. Minimum of three years of experience in graphic design and multimedia.
3. Work experience in a church or non-profit preferred.
SKILLS AND TALENTS:
1. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including strong copywriting, highly detailed proofing of written material, spelling, punctuation and grammar.
2. Understands printing and publication standards and procedures.
3. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Publisher, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Adobe Create Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, etc.), ProPresenter and HTML. .
4. Flexible self-starter able to coordinate several tasks simultaneously while also being highly detail oriented.
5. Ability to meet deadlines.
6. Ability to learn and adapt to new software and technology quickly.
7. Ability to create positive working relations with a diverse group of people and volunteers.
