We are looking for a Materials Manager to join our team in Clarkton, North Carolina. This role will involve overseeing the scheduling of plant production, managing inventory levels, and ensuring customer due dates are met. You will also be responsible for tactical buying, warehouse management, and leading continuous improvement activities.
Responsibilities
- Ensuring the successful scheduling of plant production and assisting in the analysis of long term production planning
- Managing inventory levels and working with plant teams to ensure all customer due dates are met
- Overseeing cycle counts and corrections
- Participating in sales, inventory, and operation planning processes at the plant level
- Managing the production planning and scheduling to capacities
- Planning and managing plant level tactical buying of purchased material
- Overseeing the daily expedite process and attending all levels of production meetings
- Managing warehouse, shipping, and receiving departments and processes
- Minimizing premium freight and managing freight costs
- Supervising, coaching, and developing team
- Leading recovery plans and capacity analysis, as necessary
- Participating in projects and continuous improvement activities
- Ensuring consistency across plants by working on procedures with peer managers.
- Proven experience in a Supply Chain Manager role or similar position.
- Proficiency in 3M, CapEx, Eaton, ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning, and ERP Solutions.
- Familiarity with 'About Time' software and other relevant tools.
- Exceptional customer service skills and experience.
- Strong understanding of logistics, manufacturing, and materials handling processes.
- Ability to devise and implement strategic plans to improve supply chain operations.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with various departments and stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent time management skills and ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Advanced computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office Suite.
- Relevant certification or degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or related field is preferred.
