Responsibilities:
- Claim Submission: Prepare and submit accurate and timely insurance claims for medical services provided to patients.
- Coding: Assign appropriate ICD-10 and CPT codes to medical procedures and diagnoses to ensure accurate billing and coding compliance.
- Insurance Verification: Verify patient insurance coverage, including eligibility, pre-authorizations, and benefit information.
- Billing Inquiries: Respond to inquiries from patients, insurance companies, and healthcare providers regarding billing issues, claim status, and discrepancies.
- Payment Posting: Post payments received from insurance companies, patients, and third-party payers to patient accounts accurately.
- Denial Management: Investigate and resolve claim denials, including re-submitting claims with necessary corrections and appeals when required.
- Collections: Follow up on unpaid or delinquent accounts, including initiating collections procedures when necessary.
- Documentation: Maintain organized and detailed records of billing activities, including claim submissions, payments, and correspondence.
