Robert Half has partnered with a growing company in the Construction/Contractor industry who has an opening for a Payroll Clerk who will be responsible for supporting the Payroll department in a variety of duties. This role is based in the High Point, North Carolina area. This challenging position is a great opportunity for a self-starter looking to work with an industry leader and expand their career. The company is looking for a candidate to join their dynamic, fast-growing team who can effectively communicate with both the internal team and outside customers. The Payroll Clerk will tackle challenges in data entry, reconciliation of timecards, paycheck distribution and providing statements to various departments. The Payroll Clerk position is looking to be filled on a long-term contract / temporary to hire employment contract.
Your responsibilities in this role
- Compile a system of administering and distributing reports
- Construct and run custom reports
- Comprise data into spreadsheets and the payroll system
- Craft and deliver training to employees on the use of proper payroll practices, including timesheet entry and online methods of accessing pay statements
- Perform clerical duties such as filing, scanning, faxing, photocopying, etc
- Data entry into spreadsheets and the payroll system
- Manage communications with employees on timesheet approvals
Requirements
- Skilled in Payroll software
- Sound written and verbal communication skills
- Comprehensive knowledge of data entry
- Previous payroll experience
- Outstanding data entry skills
- Possess strong organizational and follow-up skills
- Eagerness to master new systems
- Excellent attention to detail
