This job consists of supporting the Payroll department in a variety of duties, including data entry, reconciliation of timecards, paycheck distribution and providing statements to various departments. You should have excellent communication skills and be able to effectively interact with both the internal team and outside customers. A Payroll Clerk opportunity, based in the Lakewood, Colorado area, has become available on a short-term contract / temporary to hire basis.
Major responsibilities
- Conduct clerical duties such as filing, scanning, faxing, photocopying, etc
- Correspond with employees via email and phone to garner approvals on timesheets
- Data entry into spreadsheets and the payroll system
- Configure custom reports
- Administer instruction/training to employees regarding the use of payroll-related systems including entry of timesheets, online access of pay statements, etc.
- Gather data into spreadsheets and the payroll system
- Build a system of administering and distributing reports
Requirements
- Excellent data entry skills
- High attention to detail and possesses excellent organizational and writing skills
- Solid understanding of Kronos
- Multi-state payroll experience required
- Strong familiarity with garnishments payroll
- Foundational knowledge in payroll for over 500 employees
- Proven ability to quickly learn new systems
- Previous payroll experience
- Payroll software experience recommended
- Sound written and verbal communication skills
- Highly organized, attentive, has a sense of urgency, flexible and able to deal with frequent interruptions and changing priorities
