We are on the lookout for a meticulous Payroll Specialist to join our team at our location in VIRGINIA BEACH, Virginia. The Payroll Specialist will play a crucial role in managing various payroll and accounts payable duties, ensuring compliance with established policies and procedures. Key responsibilities:• Accurately and efficiently process customer credit applications.• Maintain comprehensive and correct customer credit records.• Monitor customer accounts and take appropriate action when necessary.• Respond to employee queries and resolve concerns relating to payroll.• Conduct bi-weekly payroll processing for a large number of employees using UKG, ensuring data accuracy and completeness.• Perform meticulous timesheet audits to identify and rectify errors such as missed punches and duplicate payments.• Handle the import of file downloads into the payroll system.• Calculate retroactive payroll payments and adjust timesheets when required.• Manage wage attachments such as tax levies, state/city liens, child support orders, and garnishment orders.• Oversee year-end payroll processes and the completion of the year-end checklist.• Generate various reports relating to hours, earning and deduction categories, as well as payroll processing reports.• Respond to inquiries regarding employee expenses and accounts payable issues.• Ensure proper approval and documentation for all employee expenses and invoices before processing for payment.• Maintain the vendor file by adding new vendors, updating existing vendors' records, and ensuring accurate 1099 reporting.• Reconcile and review payments to 1099 vendors at year-end to ensure accurate reporting.• Prepare and mail 1099 forms to vendors and IRS within established deadlines.• Maintain a high level of control over all 1099 files, paper copies, and any supporting documents.
