We are in search of an efficient Payroll Specialist to join our Manufacturing team in Bridgeview, Illinois. This role entails administering payroll, maintaining and updating personnel files, and ensuring new and existing employees receive appropriate benefits support. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to contribute to a dynamic work environment, where their skills in Ceridian, Kronos Timekeeping System, and Benefits Payroll will be highly valued.Responsibilities:• Compile payroll data such as hours worked, taxes, insurance, and union dues from time sheets and other records.• Calculate pay and deductions including Federal and State taxes, insurance, retirement, union dues, savings, and other deductions.• Conduct data entry tasks including entering for new hires, maintenance, and terminating of employees.• Reconcile errors and maintain payroll records diligently.• Review wages computed and correct errors to ensure accurate payroll.• Record changes affecting net wages such as exemptions, insurance coverage, and loan payments for each employee to update master payroll records.• Handle data related to the transfer of employees between departments.• Review communications related to employee benefits and provide necessary assistance for enrollment or changes.• Maintain the benefits system for addition and deletion of health benefits for employees.• Compile and submit paperwork for Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA)/Short Term Disability (STD) matters and track FMLA leave.• Request STD payments through payroll and monitor employee's health benefits until leave requires employee to be placed on COBRA.
