The Plant Accountant provides accounting services for the plant. Responsible for various daily, weekly, and monthly functions within the organization. These responsibilities include analyzing trends, monthly close support, profit and loss statement preparation, variance reporting/analysis, and providing quantitative and qualitative data. Reports to Manufacturing Finance Manager.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure the accuracy and completeness of plant expenses by reviewing vendor invoices and performing monthly reconciliations.
- Analysis of direct and overhead expenses throughout the month in comparison vs budget, forecast, prior month, and prior year.
- Inventory: maintain accuracy in receiving, month-end count, inventory adjustments, usage, and costing.
- Maintain daily KPI report for Plant Metrics
- Perform monthly accounting close, related journal entries, and financial statement preparation.
- Assist Manufacturing Finance Manager in quarterly budget preparation and new standard cost setting
- Capitalization of Fixed Assets including all related documentation
- Provide ad-hoc support to management as required

Requirements
Education/Experience:
- BS/BA Degree in Accounting or Finance
- Relevant experience (1-2 years) in a manufacturing environment preferred
- Strong attention to detail, takes pride in work output
- Excellent communication skills and strong desire to learn and progress in a financial management environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; especially Excel Spreadsheets
- Experience with ERP solutions such as Oracle
Salary : $65,000 - $85,000
