Major responsibilities
- Request cost proposals, negotiating contracts and prices
- Monitor inventory levels and determine purchase needs
- Assess supplier profiles and analyze offers
- Manage relationships with key suppliers to maintain quality of goods, timely delivery and compliance to terms of contracts
- Prepare and process purchase orders
- Research suppliers, goods, and services, and compare options
- Document records of all transactions, purchase orders, receipts, and payments
- Prepare and present detailed reports (revenues, buying expenditures, etc.)
