Key responsibilities
- Support maintenance of records of all transactions, purchase orders, receipts, and payments
- Perform research and then compare suppliers, goods, and services
- Inquire about cost proposals and negotiate prices and contracts
- Prepare and present detailed reports (revenues, buying expenditures, etc.)
- Manage relationships with key suppliers to ensure quality of goods, timely delivery and compliance to terms of contracts
- Monitor inventory levels and determine purchase needs
- Look into supplier profiles and examine offers
- Prepare and process purchase orders
- High school diploma or GED required
- Previous experience as a purchasing agent or in a similar position
- Degree in business administration, procurement, or a related field preferred
- Must be very organized and skilled in documentation
- Skilled in CRM, ERP, and inventory management software programs
- Excellent research and analytical skills
- Quality negotiation and communication skills
