Robert Half is currently working with a client seeking a Purchasing Agent. The Purchasing Agent will be responsible for collaborating and negotiating with suppliers to purchase goods and services for the company. As the Purchasing Agent you will be processing purchase orders, in addition to locating suppliers and researching goods, services and materials. If you are a deadline oriented professional and highly analytical, this is the Purchasing Agent position for you!
Responsibilities
- Research and compare suppliers, goods, and services
- Prepare and present detailed reports (revenues, buying expenditures, etc.)
- Assess supplier profiles and analyze offers
- Monitor inventory levels and determine purchase needs
- Inquire about cost proposals and negotiate prices and contracts
- Prepare and process purchase orders
- Manage relationships with key suppliers to maintain quality of goods, timely delivery and compliance to terms of contracts
- Maintain records of all transactions, purchase orders, receipts, and payments
Requirements
- 1 year working in a professional setting
- Excellent data entry skills
- Ability to provide exemplary customer service while working with vendors and suppliers
- A minimum of a HS Diploma or equivalent
