Purchasing Clerk

Description Robert Half is currently working with a client looking for a Purchasing Agent. The Purchasing Agent will be responsible to work and negotiate with suppliers to purchase goods and services for the company. In this position you will be locating suppliers, researching goods, services and materials and processing purchasing orders. If you are a highly analytical and deadline oriented professional, this is the Purchasing Agent position for you!
How you will make an impact
- Research and compare suppliers, goods, and services
- Manage relationships with key suppliers to ensure quality of goods, timely delivery and compliance to terms of contracts
- Request cost proposals and negotiate contracts and prices
- Look into supplier profiles and examine offers
- Complete detailed reports (revenues, buying expenditures, etc.)
- Prepare and process purchase orders
- Determine purchase needs and monitor inventory levels
- Manage records of all transactions, purchase orders, receipts, and payments Requirements
- Must have strong research skills and excellent analytical thinking
- Proficiency in Excel, ERP, and inventory management software programs
- Strong organization and documentation skills
- Quality negotiation and communication skills
- High school diploma or GED required
- Prior experience as a purchasing agent or in a similar position
