Senior Accountant A client of ours is looking for a Senior Accountant for a contract to hire role. As the Senior Accountant you will be responsible for cash control, manage workers compensation and liability insurance expenses, support the accounting department, and monitor fundraising, fixed assets, and vehicle accidents. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting principles, experience with financial reporting, and proficiency in financial analysis. Additionally, responsibilities include General Ledger, checking account, and financial statement reconciliation.Responsibilities of Senior AccountantMaintain fixed assets and depreciation schedules monthlyPrepare journal entries including audit fees, depreciation expense, cash control, and intercompany equipment rentals and supplies.Generate monthly financial statements to directors.Maintain safe deposit box and list for Agency assetsAssist with special projects and initiatives as assigned by management.Monitor automatic cash deposits and prepare corresponding data for entry into General Ledger. Update Cash Flow projection worksheet with actual history.Reconcile the general Ledger, including fixed assets and liability insurance.Maintain general ledger through account analysis and account review.Assist with month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis.Maintain recurring journal entries including prepaid insurance and workers compensation expense accruals. Prepare insurance vouchers and reconcile prepaid and workers comp insurance accounts at month-end
