We are seeking a Sr. Accountant to join our team based in BUFFALO, New York. This role is vital for the management and handling of our financial records and processes. The successful candidate will play a significant role in the finance sector of our telecom organization, with a focus on ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our financial operations.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, including but not limited to ledgers, journals, and financial statements
- Execute month-end and year-end close processes diligently and timely
- Reconcile bank statements and ensure accuracy of financial transactions
- Analyze financial data and provide insights to support decision-making
- Prepare and present financial reports for management review
- Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes, providing accurate predictions and plans
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulations, and internal policies
- Collaborate with internal teams to streamline financial processes and improve efficiency
- Assist with audits and provide documentation as needed
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in accounting and finance
- Utilize skills such as Account Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, Bank Reconciliations, General Ledger, Journal Entries, Microsoft Excel, and Month End Close in the execution of duties.
- Proficient in Account Reconciliation
- Skilled in Balance Sheet Reconciliation
- Experience with Bank Reconciliations
- Demonstrated expertise in maintaining General Ledger
- Capable of making accurate Journal Entries
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel
- Experienced in managing Month End Close processes
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Detail-oriented with high level of accuracy
- Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines
- Knowledge of applicable laws, codes, and regulations related to accounting practices
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is preferred
