Our client, a biotech diagnostics company, is seeking a senior cost accountant to join their finance team. The ideal candidate will have proficiency with Oracle Fusion, strong analytical skills, and a proven track record of collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams including Operations, Supply Chain Management (SCM), and Financial Planning & Analysis (FP& A). The role requires a deep understanding of cost analysis, variance analysis, inventory reporting, and financial reporting, as well as experience managing Excess & Obsolete (E& O) inventory processes and standard cost updates in collaboration with SCM.
Key Responsibilities:
· Utilize expertise in cost accounting to ensure accurate assessment and management of costs in a non-traditional manufacturing environment.
· Leverage your proficiency in Oracle Fusion system to streamline cost accounting processes and generate accurate financial information.
· Collaborate effectively with Operations, SCM, and FP& A teams to understand cost drivers, assess cost variances, and implement corrective actions.
· Analyze standard and actual costs, materials, labor, and overhead costs for inaccuracies, leading efforts to identify and address underlying root causes.
· Deliver COGS analytics with a strong finance focus, developing and maintaining detailed COGS variance analysis, including balance sheet accounts and cost of goods sold (COGS).
· Support the E& O process to minimize waste and optimize cost efficiencies.
· Collaborate with SCM to plan, collect, and analyze data, playing integral role in the bi-annual standard cost revaluation processes, and implement cost updates periodically.
· Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, perform various month-end close activities, and resolve audit inquiries, as well as SOX compliance.
